ESTABLISHED	The Park was the 10th national park in the system, approved by Congress on January 26, 1915. It is one of 51 national parks in the country.
SIZE	265,726 acres, about one-ninth the size of Yellowstone; 415 square miles.
ELEVATION	Park Headquarters at the Beaver Meadows entrance is at 7,800 feet. Longs Peak, the tallest mountain in the park, is 14,255 feet above sea level.
VISITORS	Each year there are more than 3 million visitors to the park, a figure similar to that recorded by Yellowstone National Park.
CAMPGROUNDS	There are five established campgrounds in the Park, including Aspenglen, Longs Peak, Timber Creek, Glacier Basin, Moraine Park with group facilities at Glacier Basin campground.
OLD FALL RIVER ROAD	This one-way, uphill-only route (about ten miles) to the top of Trail Ridge Road opened September 14, 1920. Entrance to Old Fall River Road is easiest from the northern Fall River entrance station. Because of the steep grades and switchbacks, it is not open to trailers or mobile homes and the road is open only during the summer months, usually early July through late September.
TRAIL RIDGE ROAD	The highest, continuous paved highway in the United States crosses the Continental Divide. Open from Memorial Day through mid-October (weather permitting) the 45-mile route connects the western entrance town of Grand Lake with Estes Park. At its highest point, the road is 12,183 feet above sea level, 11 miles of the route are above timberline.
